When I entered the Ismet Güney Art Centre on one of the last days, I impulsively said HA, you know what you say when something really surprises you. Big creations on canvas 150 x 150 cm crying out, hitting. Faces made of tiny bits of magazines, here and there black cöp bags as hair, discarded children shoes creating illusions of mimicry, plastic, computer parts used for composition, one portrait made completely of clock parts; portraits made of paper pulp.
The young artists are: Azmiye Yinal, Durcan Rujdi, Gazi Yüksel, Gözde Zalihe Emirler, Hayriye Bakir, Mehmet Sariler, Mine Korudağ, Saffet Deveci.
Experimenting widens the horizon and I can see that they had a lot of fun.
