The Goethe-Institut Cyprus will be closed from 23rd December 2012 till 1st January 2013. From 2nd January 2013 onwards we are again at your service. Our German language classes will resume from 7th January 2013 onwards.
Our cultural activities in January 2013 will center around the pressing topic of Climate Change. We will present a poster exhibition by the famous German artist Klaus Staeck, we will show international documentary films about the environmental challenges we face and on the 23rd of January will hold a lecture by an eminent scientist and climate researcher together with the Cyprus Institute.
Furthermore we will present very recent films by GREENPEACE, whose actions this year aimed at stopping the economic exploitation of the arctic, where the ice is smelting with an increasing speed, thus resulting in a rising of sea levels, which endangers many low lying countries like Bangla Desh, pacific islands and even cities like New York.
