Mit über 100 interessierten Besuchern startete gestern Abend die Ausstellungseröffnung „United States of Europe“ mit einem Rundgang, der um 19. 30 Uhr vom Zampelas Museum in Kaimakli startete und über den „Old Market Pallouriotissa“, die eindrucksvolle open air Installation vor „The Shoe Factory“ der Pharos Arts Foundation zur „Temporary Space“-Galerie in der Aischylos Strasse führte, von dort weiter zur Galerie des „Classic Hotels“ beim Paphos Tor und schließlich am Abend um 22.30 Uhr im Goethe-Institut in der Pufferzone mit einem Cocktail und Snacks endete. An allen sechs Ausstellungsstationen erhalten die Besucher einen Ausstellungspaß mit hilfreichen Informationen zu den ausstellenden Künstlern und Arbeiten (Auf Englisch und Griechisch).

Bis zum 14.10. ist diese Ausstellung zur Identität der Menschen in Europa zu sehen. In der Galerie des Goethe-Instituts zeigt die Künstlergruppe „Reinigungsgesellschaft“ z.B. eine Videoinstallation mit dem Titel „Risiko Gesellschaft“, die sich mit den Lebensperspektiven junger Menschen in Deutschland beschäftigt. (Auf Deutsch mit engl. Untertiteln) Eine Arbeit im Grenzbereich zwischen Kunst und Sozialer Realitätsbeschreibung. Geöffnet montags – freitags von 9.00 Uhr bis 19. 00 Uhr. Eintritt frei! More than 100 interested people participated in last nights opening of the new exhibition “United States of Europe” and walked all along the six participating galleries, museums and other spaces in Nicosia, starting at Zampela Museum in Kaimakli, to “Old Market Pallouriotissa”, further on to “The Shoe Factory” of Pharos Arts Foundation at Ermou street, “Temporary Space”-gallery in Aischylos Street, further to the gallery of Classic Hotel and the Goethe-Institut in the buffer zone, where a cocktail ended this unusual opening late in the evening. At all six venues of the exhibition “United States of Europe” the visitors will get an Exhibition Passport” with all relevant informations about the participating artists from Europe and the works they present in Nicosia (In Greek or English).

This exhibition will be open to the public until the 14th October 2012. All works deal with European identities. In the Goethe-Institut for example a video installation by the German artist group “Reinigungsgesellschaft” (Cleaning Service) titled “Risk Society” about the future perspective of young people in Germany is being shown Mondays through Fridays from 9.00 am till 7.00 pm.
