Paintings – Sculpture – Ceramics – Printing – Photography

I had to miss the opening and perhaps meet the one or other artist, at least the local ones. However, I defied the hot weather conditions this morning and went to see the works in the Hospital Exhibition Hall. I had the whole place for myself.

From the poster that was sent around to facebook and other sites, I knew that it was to be a group exhibition of local artists, teachers from the fine arts departments of the Near East University and artists from Kirgistan, Tacikistan, Ozbekistan, Kazakistan, Ukraine and Russia, with large-sized paintings and sculptures. On some of the paintings there is a name given but otherwise there is no mention of names, I regret that.

Also some of our local art photographers were invited to participate in the exhibition which I enjoyed to see.

I presume that all the works which have been exhibited in the various faculty halls in the last months will be one day shown in the new Art Museum the interesting infrastructure of which can be seen from far. I am looking forward to the opening.

The exhibition is open until 24 August daily from 08:00 to 16:00 hrs in the exhibition hall of the NEU Hospital in Nicosia.
