Hakan Çakmak and our artists – An occasion to remember

It is the day one year ago, 23 June 2017,  that Hakan Çakmak left the stage of life, so abruptly, so unexpectedly, that we all were in shock.  Yiltan Taşçı offered the opportunity to remind us of the important work for the arts this man did over many years.  Photographs of Hakan interviewing our local artists in their studios, beautiful very special portraits and screenshots by Yiltan Taşçı.

Many had come to salute him, with HE Mustafa Akincı and Meral his wife in the fore front, artists and writers, his family - I heard, Hakan had six siblings, and many friends, and many had tears in their eyes.

I have been to other In-Memoriam events of Hakan Çakmak, you find my reports on my website, and I am sure there will be more to come, as the importance of the work he did, following, archiving events of the arts and culture, will not come to an end, because it is the infrastructure of our society.
