ON DEVISED THEATRE
“Devised Theatre” refers to work done by a collaborative group whose members come together to create a piece of theatre or performance without a pre-written play. As working impulses almost anything can be used: a thematic idea, objects, personal experiences. It gives actors greater space to intuitive physical and emotional responses and forces them to” get out of their heads”.
It is the purpose of devised theatre to further an intercultural dialogue and an appreciation
of the diversity of cultural and artistic communities.
