Colourful
The European Mediterranean Art Association (EMAA) and its copartner Cyprus Chamber of Fine arts (EKATE) are hosting yet another art exhibition, organised within the framework of the EU grant program to strengthen the civil society. The main objective of the exhibition is to establish a closer relationship between the two communities.
The artwork produced by juniors, young adults and the disabled participants during the second term courses will be presented in an art exhibition titled “COLOURFUL” on February the 22nd, 2011 at 17:00.
The opening of the Colourful exhibition will be carried out by EU Commission’s Head of Section Mr. Ismo Ulvila, at the EMAA Capital Art Centre. The exhibition will be honored by the presence of the Mayor of Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mr. Cemal Bulutoğulları and Deniz Plaza Director Mr. Turgay Deniz.
The exhibition can be visited at Capital Art Centre (Belediye Sokak, No.1, Yenişehir, near Deniz Plaza back entrance), between 22 – 28 February, from 16:00 – 20:00 on Monday, 10:00 – 13:00 / 16:00 – 20:00 from Tuesday to Friday, and from 10:00 – 14:00 on Saturday. The artwork produced throughout the two-month courses are as colourful as the name of the exhibition suggests.
Thanks to Deniz Plaza's support, the art courses became possible and the children were given the opportunity to convey their extremely colourful visions with infinite possibilities in their artwork, and young adults enjoyed shooting their first ever short film that they also played, directed and edited. On the other hand, the disabled participants were introduced to the aesthetics of art, and expressed their visions freely through colours and shapes.
