The performance is the outcome of a 3-month devised-theatre workshop series and a contribution of the Goethe-Institut Cyprus to “Paphos 2017” under the guidance of Artistic Directors Achim Wieland and Marios Ioannou, and Collaborating Dramaturge Ellada Evangelou.

The project is performed at three Outdoor Basketball-Courts in Paphos, North-Nicosia and South-Nicosia. 12 young greek- and turkish cypriot performers, growing up in very different circumstances on the same land, encounter on the “playing field” an honest and unfiltered exchange of personal stories, known histories and untold tales - striving for a more empathetic perspective of each other.

The first performance will take place on coming Saturday, 24 June 2017 at 8.30 p.m. at the 5th Elementary School Moutalos (Outdoor Basketball Court) - Kiamil Tazian, Neas Synoikeas, Pafos

Das Theaterprojekt ist das Ergebnis eines “Devise-Theater” Workshops und der Beitrag des Goethe-Instituts Zypern zu Pafos 2017 unter der künstlerischen Leitung der Regisseure und Performer Achim Wieland und Marios Ioannou (Mitwirkende Dramaturgin: Ellada Evangelou).

“Myths and Tales from/across the Divide” findet auf Basketballplätzen in Pafos, Nord-Nikosia und Süd-Nikosia statt. 12 junge griechisch- und türkisch-zyprische Performer, die unter verschiedenen Bedingungen im selben Land aufgewachsen sind, machen die „Spielfelder“ zu einem Austauschplatz ihrer Geschichten, persönlichen Erfahrungen und sie umgebenden Mythen, mit dem Ziel zu verstehen und sich in einer mitfühlenden Perspektive anzunähern.

Die erste Performance findet am kommenden Samstag, den 24. Juni 2017 um 20:30 Uhr in der 5. Moutalos Grundschule (Auf dem Basketballplatz) - Kiamil Tazian, Neas Synoikeas- in Pafos statt.
