Salih
M.Çizel is a Cypriot man who has dedicated his life to painting, it is his
passion and working with paint is in his thoughts day and night, he has been
fighting for his art since he was a boy in Larnaka and he is still fighting for
it today.
He
has been exhibiting his art since 1968 more or less every year, also in various
European countries. Since 1997 he has his own little gallery ‘Rönesans’ in
Lapta but he is known to most Cypriots and to many expats as the ‘painting restaurateur’ of Girne
harbour. He loves communicating through his art, he loves his country and has a
deep respect for everything living in it.
I
have conducted an interview with him to learn more about his life which will be
published in the following issue of Cyprus Observer under the title ‘Creative
people living in our midst – My School was Life’.
The
opening evening of his exhibition is on Friday, 07 March at 18:30 hrs under the
auspices of HE, the President of TRNC, Dr. Derviş Eroğlu.
