“Helping Hands”(Yardım Eden Eller) is a theme created by Gönül Erönen in a project to raise funds for various charities within the community so that they may continue in their activities unrestricted by financial concerns. Helping Hands  achieves this goal through classical music concerts and recitals and all contributions raised from such events goes to such charities be it for cancer patients, cancer research  or for needy children. The artists taking part in such events perform voluntarily with their own "helping hands".

In 2006 and 2008 Helping Hands  realised two concerts one at the Bellapais Abbey and Middle East Technical University Kalkanlı campus for the Help Those with Cancer Association. In 2009 it was able to secure much needed funds through a concert in St John Smith's Square in London,UK for the Pro Cancer Research Fund

Now Helping Hands  prepares for its IVth  spectacular event to classical music lovers. 

With the support of the TRNC Tourism, Environment and Culture Ministry "The Classics at Bedesten" promises to be a different classical music event then those held previously. It not only will have 5 classical music artists performing but will also include a improvised contemporary  dance performance to the works by the masters. Works will include music by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Bizet, Saint-Seans, Schubert, Chopin, Piazzolla, F.Say as well as Turkish Cypriot composer, Kamuran Aziz.

As seating is limited, the event will take place on  two nights, 28 & 29 May 2010 at 20.30 hrs at the newly restored St Nicholas Church, the Bedesten in Selimiye Square, Lefkoşa and is in aid of the Cyprus Turkish Children's Welfare Association. The Association set out in its task to secure opportunities to those children less fortunate than others and provide them with a much better future. Hence the contributions from both night's performances will be used to provide better education for needy children . 

Tickets cost TL 25, and will be on sale on 20 April at all Toros Stores, Deniz Plazas,and at the Kyrenia and Selimiye Square Sabor Restaurants.
