So
I conclude that there will be a third exhibition in the age group starting from
date of birth 1977? I hope so because
there are really mention and museum worthy younger artists as well. Also there
are more artists missing in the aforementioned groups. But what a great idea to
finally start planning an art museum we all have been waiting for so long now.
On
the occasion of the second exhibition plans for the museum were presented and I
was told that the project should be ready in 2020, that means building will
start soon. My congratulations.
‘RETROSPEKTIF
2’ has a well-designed catalogue in Turkish and English in which Dr. Mustafa
Hastürk gives a good overview on the development of Turkish Cypriot Plastic
Arts.
It
was a Saturday morning that I came to see the exhibition and although it was
closed to the public I got the permission to see it thanks to a very friendly
and attentive guard who got the permission for us to pass.
The
exhibition will be open until May 03, 2018, except weekends.
PS: My interviews with most of the artists exhibited can be read in my books 'Art and Creativity in North Cyprus' Volumes I and II available in all bookstores.
