„Open Studios“ are back again

Do you remember the last Open Studio Events? That was two years ago. We all have had a wonderful time in visiting together the studios of our artist friends in the North and the South of Nicosia, there were things which went wrong but in the whole we did have a great experience. I remember it well and I am looking forward to see the new work of my friends on both sides.

I have learnt that Open Studios have become an association by itself apart from our known art associations in both parts of the city of Lefkosa, which I am sure are still cooperating towards the same goal. I will tell you more about the structure of the association as soon as I have more details.

So, let us use the opportunity to roam the old city again. Read the programme, you will be led by artists.

INFORMATION CENTRE
Visit the Open Studios information centre at the Municipality's “Peace Hall” at the end of Ledra Street, where maps with directions to the studios and other information about the festival will be available.
Samples of the participating artists' work will also be on display, as well as a video show from past “Open Studios” events.

THURSDAY 27/10/2011
19:00 - Opening ceremony at the “Peace Hall” (at the end of Ledra Street)
20:30-22:00 – Artists' studios open to the public.
FRIDAY 28/10/2011
18:00-22:00 - Artists' studios open to the public, as well as the Information Centre at the “Peace Hall”.
20:00 - Opening of Lias Boyiatzi exhibition at "KAT'OIKON” art space, Perikleous 47, Tel: 99586496.
SATURDAY 29/10/2011
09:00 – 15:00 – Information Centre at the “Peace Hall” will be open.
10:00-13:00 – Street-art creative show, a collaboration of the Open Studios artists, students from the Ayios Kassianos primary school and “Diavlos” Children's Museum of Art - at Ayios Kassianos school area.
18:00-22:00 - Artists' studios open to the public, as well as the Information Centre at the “Peace Hall”.
18:00-22:00 – DJ & multimedia show by the artist Savvas Koureas (AnexitiloN) at the “Peace Hall”

GUIDED TOURS
South Nicosia tours (studio numbers 1-14) Friday 28th, Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th at 18:00
North Nicosia tours (studio numbers 14-19) Friday 28th, Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th at 20:00
All tours begin promptly from the Information Centre “Peace Hall” on Ledra Street. There will be a short break for traditional snacks and refreshments at Zanettos Tavern.
Please arrive 10 minutes in advance.
