Alas,
the post-pandemic first Music Festival ended with 22 June 2021 but we were
offered some consolation to make the sudden silence easier to bear.
The
programme of this special concert was exquisite and well balanced, musical
pieces to show the whole musical range of a violin.
Jules
Massenet: Meditation
Georgy
Sviridov: Snowstorm
(Arr. Ilya Sirotin)
Waltz
Romance
Military March
Ludwig
van Beethoven: Romance No. 2 in F
Mayor Op. 50
Fritz
Kreisler Liebesleid (Love’s
Sorrow)
Sergei
Rachmaninov: Vocalise Op. 34
Edward
Elgar Chanson de Matin
Edward
Elgar Salut d‘Amour Op. 12
Fritz
Kreisler Prelude and Allegro
in style of Pugnani
A
violin and piano recital of the finest, I have already been tuned in to the
concert by the video we were given on facebook, a taster of the hours of
rehearsal recorded by the director of the music festival, Halil Kalgay.
The
music hall was full to the last seat and one could feel the waves of romantic
feelings being laid open with the music played by the two outstanding musicians.
It
was a pure declaration of love for music …and for love. Thank you.
